Russo/Honda One-Of-A-Kind: The Details...

The Russo/Honda pictured below began life in the hands of an Italian framebuilder named Guiseppe Russo whose work was documented in a syndicated magazine article by motojournalist Bruno de Prato which appeared in several international publications including the December 1984 issue of the now defunct Cycle.

Russo built two prototypes intending to produce kits for sale to customers, but never produced any kits -- perhaps moving on to another endeavor. He is shown brazing on the frame you see here. The complete bike, ridden by the author is rumored to have been later destroyed. If so, then this as the only example of Russo's Interceptor-based project.

Different on the complete bike you see here versus the example in Cycle magazine are Marvic 16" wheels and an HRC fully kitted VF750R engine, including titanium rods, race pistons, factory ported heads, gear driven cams, magnesium covers and case parts, semi-dry deep sump and catch tank.

The engine is also fitted with magnesium kit carbs, wet clutch, electric start and endurance charging system. A one-off SuperTrapp 4 into 2 exhaust produces another unique feature of this bike -- the sound.

Confirmation of the appeal that the Russo/Honda brings is the second appearance in a magazine feature with the January 1991 Motorcyclist offering titled "Russo's Renegade."
